Suanne Braun Biography:


Originally from South Africa, Suanne began her career in television by hosting a travel series ‘Bon Voyage’ as well as working as a presenter on the Miss World pageants in 1992 and 1994. She performed in the award winning Afrikaans drama Konings playing the role of Vlam and also in The Big Time 1&2. After a brief visit to the USA, Suanne moved to Los Angeles and spent the next 10 years there.Television highlights during this time include Prowler (CBS) directed by Academy Award Winner Peter Bogdanovich,Whose Line Is It Anyway?(FOX), Just Shoot Me(NBC),Wings (NBC), FX-The Series (The CW)The West Wing (City Live NBC) and a recurring  role in the immensely popular series Stargate SG-1 (MGM and SKY). Theatre credits during this time include Private Lives (Fleur Du Cap Best Actress Nomination), Offbeat Broadway, The Secret Lives of Henry And Alice, Lend Me A TenorBedside Manners, Things We Do For Love(Best Actress Nomination), A Slice Of Saturday NightNunsense and a 6 month stint with The Groundlings Improv Comedy Group in LA. A keen fan of stand up, Suanne won the Funny Bones Newcomer Award in 2006 .Since moving to the UK ,theatre credits include Maria Callas in Onassis (West End), Fraulein Kost in Rufus Norris’ Olivier winning production of Cabaret (West End and UK number 1 tour), Tanya in Mamma Mia(West End), Vice- The Revenger’s Tragedy (Soho Theatre),Bernada Alba (Union Theatre) Sailing Somewhere(National Studio), Easy To Love (BAC), Carnival of The Animals (Riverside Studios) Daisy Pulls It Off(Gatehouse)Cougar The Musical (Coventry) I Have Life (Theatre on The Square) and most recently #CashCow (National Studio). 


Recent film & television credits  include sketch comedy series No Signal (FX and Sky One) Revealing Mr. Maugham   (BAFTA nomination) Swim Cinema), Starhyke (Sky)The Girls Guide To Depravity (HBO), RED DWARF XI (Sky  & BBC America), Need For Speed (Independent Films) Survivor (Millennium Films) and A Winter Prince (Hallmark).Suanne has just wrapped on a 5 episode web series Un/Packing  and is currently working on her own solo show.
