Heike is an Austro-South African trilingual performer. She graduated from WITS Drama School and first became known to South African TV audiences as the writer/presenter of Fabuscopes, a quirky daily insert on The Breakfast Club. At the same time, she starred in the first-ever sign language soap opera, Young and Speechless, as the series’ mean girl, Angel.
Subsequently, Heike spent 2 years in London and a decade in Paris, focusing on stage performance and multilingual voice-over work. She was the English weather voice for France24 news channel at its inception. Heike has performed on stage in English, French, German and Sign Language in various European cities including Berlin, Munich, Vienna, Madrid, Edinburgh and Avignon. In addition, she had repeated stints performing in Los Angeles and New York City with a Californian theatre troupe.
In Los Angeles, Heike was a student of Larry Moss, the Margie Haber Studio and Judith Weston. In Paris, she had the opportunity to experience both Keith Johnston’s Improv training and Ariane Mouchkine’s Theatre du Soleil workshops.
On her return to South Africa, Heike produced two large-cast theatre productions, Urban Death Cape Town and Funerals, Kidnappings, Swizzle Sticks and Other Distractions. On-screen, Heike co-starred in Alle Macht den Kindern alongside Hannes Jaenicke and Rebecca Immanuel and participated in a range of German and South African feature films and TV series.
In 2019, Heike co-created Doris and Donna, a wacky YouTube show about words. Heike plays the role of Doris and co-authors the show.
