Jurgen graduated with a degree in BA Theatre and Theatre Studies, thereafter completed a year in African Languages at the University of Stellenbosch, followed by a degree in Education and Educational Psychology. Jurgen's first professional theatre production was Die Gangsters by Dr. Benn De Haek under the direction of Marthinus Basson. He has also played acclaimed theatre productions such as In Die Woud, In Die See and Cindershoeler, which won a Kanna for Best Childrens production in 2017. Jurgen also played the role of Tommy Sabotker in Krismis Van Map Jacobs under the direction of Andre Samuels. His first professional shortfilm was Kloof which was part of the Silwermskerm shortfilms under instruction of KykNet in 2018. More recently, Jurgen starred in a shortfilm, Disa Straat, where he played Shaun. In 2019 Jurgen continued doing community theatre under the Group Spieel where he worked as a facilitator, theatre developer and content creator, as well as with WOW-Kunste (drama) scholar productions. Jurgen is known for his roles in numerous KykNet productions such as Sara Se Geheim as Jacob, Projek Dina as Thulani and most recently (4 seasons) Arendsvlei as Clem Peke Jurgen's recent work includes the role of Bennie in Die Al Kind written by Herschelle Benjamin under direction of Sandra Temmingh for the Suidoosterfees 2020/21. Currently in the process of establishing his own charity foundation; The Yellow Foundation – Changing the World by Adding Colour.
