Nandi started in the industry of the arts in 1971 in a play written and directed by Sol Rachilo. In 1979 she joined the Market Theatre as a bar attendant, but was quickly discovered by the visiting directors.
In 1980 she joined the cast of Sophia Town directed by Malcom Perkey, which toured the world (France, Germany, San Francisco, London). She then acted in Curl Up and Dye directed by Loucille Gilward. In 1883 Nandi starred in the Benny Francis play, Afrika My Child at the Market Theatre. In 1990 she featured in Nicholas Ellenbogen's play Horn of Sorrow, highlighting the plight of the Rhino, and in 1992 The Eagle- also by Nicholas Ellenbogen.
Television productions include 1980 If This Be Treason and 1990 Bra Solly's Kitchen. Then Gazlam, Yizo Yizo, Zone 14, Isibaya, Isthembiso, The Queen, Isono, The River S6, Adulting S1 & 2. Her most recent television series was Still Breathing, a Mnet production, that received great reviews.
Films that Nandi has starred in include A Reasonable Man, Saturday Night at the Palace, Yesterday, and Place of Weeping.
In 2019, Nandi played a judge in the film entitled Courting Anathi directed by Akin Omotoso.
In 2020, she landed a role in the comedy-drama series How to Ruin Christmas. She went on to resume her role the following year for another season. Both seasons are currently streaming on Netflix.
In 2023, she landed a supporting role in the CBS version of King Shaka, sadly the show was canceled with the possibility of another streamer coming on board in future.
The sought-after actress is currently working on two other projects, to be released in 2024.
