MLA CALL FOR CAST 2024 - TOP 13

Acting has always been at the heart of Cara Frew's creative ambitions. After building an international career in music and elite sport, she is now dedicated full-time to acting, bringing a unique combination of performance experience, psychological insight, and physical discipline to every role.

Cara is a Grammy Recording Academy member. She began her professional career as a singer-songwriter after signing with Sony Music Entertainment. She has performed at Coachella, Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Singapore and South Africa, and at the iconic Viper Room on Los Angeles' Sunset Strip. She has also collaborated with internationally acclaimed artists including DJ Black Coffee and three-time Grammy Award winner Wouter Kellerman.

Before pursuing acting full-time, Cara competed as an elite equestrian athlete, representing South Africa at the World Equestrian Games on three occasions. Competing at the highest level developed the resilience, discipline, and composure that continue to inform her work as an actor.

Cara holds a Master of Science in Health Psychology from King's College London. Her understanding of human behaviour and emotion informs her approach to character, allowing her to explore complex psychological journeys with authenticity and emotional depth.

Her acting training includes the Howard Fine Acting Studio in Los Angeles, the Professional Actors Lab with David Rotenberg, and ongoing study with Ivanna Chubbuck.

Alongside acting, Cara is developing original feature films and limited series, including Mainly MANIC, Code of Honour, and Mothers Who Murder.

Cara is drawn to psychologically complex, emotionally demanding, and physically challenging roles, with a particular interest in stories that explore resilience, identity, trauma, and the complexities of human behaviour.
