Chance Porteous is a South African actress trained in London at the Beck Academy of Dramatic Art, where she completed a two-year drama course alongside ongoing one-to-one coaching with Fay Beck and voice and movement training with Martina Avogadri. Her training saw her deep dive into character work, tackling roles with mental and physical impediments, including scene work in Birdman (Sam) and Silver Linings Playbook (Tiffany, lead).
In 2026, she and her coach produced a behind-the-scenes series exploring acting technique and the coaching process, tackling stage roles that include Mrs X in The Stronger and Nina in The Seagull, alongside a supporting turn as Harper in Angels in America.
Chance also brings commercial experience to camera, having led Coca-Cola’s Share a Coke with Chance campaign and appeared in MTN Group’s We’re Good Together.
Before training as an actress, Chance worked in script coverage in New York and film production in Cape Town, giving her a strong grasp of storytelling from script to screen. Fluent in English with French and Afrikaans, and skilled across South African, American, and British RP accents, she is currently developing a collaborative project with Fay Beck and pursuing further opportunities in film, television, and theatre.
