Gianluca Gironi

MLA CALL FOR CAST 2024 - TOP 13

Gianluca Gironi has never pronounced his name correctly because he doesn’t naturally speak in an Italian accent. He thinks orchestrating an accent to say his name when he’ll speak in his natural accent straight afterwards would be pretentious. Well, at least, to him.

Since he was a baby, he has lived in the Blouberg region of Cape Town and has cultivated a strong liking for outdoor activities, particularly pursuits involving the ocean. He was also known to enjoy indoor activities that involved physical movement, music, or extensive imagination.

Throughout his juvenile journey, he has participated in various interests and training regimes, which have afforded him specific skills that he is grateful to integrate into his work in the arts. He recently graduated from the Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy (LAMTA) and may now consider himself a triple-threat performer.

His recent theatre roles include Jerry Alison in The Buddy Holly Story (PTP Productions) and Sky in MAMMA MIA! (Showtime Productions). He hopes to continue refining and growing his abilities and discovering and adopting new ones.
