Keenan Arrison is an award-winning actor and producer with a career spanning over sixteen years. Born in Cape Town, South Africa, he first gained significant industry attention by landing the male lead in Oliver Hermanus’s acclaimed feature Shirley Adams, produced by Roland Emmerich’s Centropolis Entertainment.

A graduate of AFDA Cape Town, Arrison earned a BA in Live Performance and Motion Picture (Cum Laude). His final-year short film, Ongeriewe, which he co-wrote and starred in, was selected for competition at the Cannes International Film Festival and won Best Short Film at the Durban International Film Festival in 2006.

In South Africa, he became a household name through prominent roles in television series such as Sara se Geheim, Binneland, Swartwater, and The Wild. His film credits include Tim Green’s Skeem, John Barker’s heist action hit The Umbrella Men, and international projects including Tomb Raider, BBC’s Our Girl, The Crown, Dominion and Accident.

His latest success is the film The Heart Is a Muscle, which he produced and starred in the lead role. It premiered at the 2025 Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the Berlinale Jury Prize. The film has been selected as South Africa’s official entrant to the 98th Academy Awards for Best International Feature.

Keenan is also the founder and director of Stranger Films, under which he produced the short film Bergie. The film premiered at the Silwerskerm Film Festival and won the Tanit d’argent for Best Short Film Fiction at the Carthage Film Festival in 2022.

A multi-faceted performer with stage and musical experience, Keenan Arrison continues to expand his creative scope as an actor and producer, developing compelling stories for both local and international audiences.
