Ndebele's theatrical contributions are celebrated for their emotional depth and cultural resonance. His award-winning Cantos of a Life in Exile (2024) offers profound insights into the South African exile experience, while his television production work on Nomzamo has garnered critical acclaim. His leadership, including his tenure as Artistic Director at Joburg City Theatres and stints as dramaturge at the iconic Market Theatre and the South African State Theatre, has significantly contributed to the South African theatre landscape.

On screen, Ndebele commands attention with a subtle yet profound presence. His role in It's Not a Burial, It's a Resurrection (2019) brought him international acclaim, winning Best Picture at the Athens International Film Festival and a Special Jury Award at Sundance.
