Marlisa is an actor, independent theatre-maker, filmmaker, and drama teacher with over two decades of experience working across industries in both South Africa and the United Kingdom.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and English, a postgraduate qualification in Acting, and U.K. teaching qualifications QTS and NQT.
In 2010, Marlisa founded an award-winning independent theatre company in Cape Town, and in 2013 received the People’s Choice Fleur du Cap Theatre Award for her producing work. Alongside her stage career, her independent short films have screened internationally and received multiple awards through the FilmFreeway festival circuit between 2016 and 2026.
