
Marlo Minnaar is an acclaimed South African actor, theatre-maker, voice artist and presenter with nearly two decades of professional experience across stage, television, film and voice performance. Renowned for his emotional depth, versatility and commanding presence, he has established himself as one of South Africa’s most versatile performers, with an extensive body of work.
A graduate of the University of Stellenbosch with a Bachelor of Drama degree, Marlo is a two-time Fleur du Cap Theatre Award winner and a Naledi Theatre Award nominee, with additional industry recognition for his contribution to South African stage and screen. His body of work reflects a lifelong commitment to excellence, truthful storytelling and artistic integrity.
His screen credits include the international Hulu series The Looming Tower, Spinners, Fraksie, Sara se Geheim and the Silwerskerm Festival short film Aan/Af. He has also portrayed memorable characters in popular South African soap operas including 7de Laan and Suidooster, collaborating with some of the country’s most respected directors, writers and production companies.
Alongside his screen career, Marlo has enjoyed an extensive theatre career, performing in acclaimed productions throughout South Africa and at prestigious international theatre festivals in France, Spain, Germany and India. His international performance experience has broadened his artistic perspective, enabling him to work across cultures while remaining deeply rooted in authentic South African storytelling.
A bilingual performer in English and Afrikaans, Marlo is equally at home in naturalistic drama, contemporary and classical theatre, commercial campaigns and character-driven voice performance.
