Melusi Molefe is an emerging actor, writer & theatre-maker. Melusi is a proud graduate of the Market Theatre Laboratory’s full-time program, where he received the annual ACT|DALRO|Nedbank Acting scholarship in 2019 before joining Kwasha!Theatre company.

Melusi has been a student of the Performing Arts at The Tshwane University of Technology, where he majored in physical theatre and voice under Karima Lemmer, Isana Maseko, Gifter Ngobeni & Jenine Lewis.

In 2019 his class won Best Ensemble and Best Tertiary Incubation for Koleka Putuma’s play No Easter Sunday for Queers and Sylvain Strike and Gina Schmukler’s play Eclipsed Phifalo ya Ngwed.

Melusi takes great pride in having received mentoring from notable figures in the industry, including Monageng Motshabi, Omphile Molusi, Alex Haligey for voice work, and Mongiwekhaya for screen acting.  His most recent theatre credits were in Mina Thina!, a play directed by Jennie Reznek.  He has also performed in a puppet show for young audiences (0-7) directed by Roshona Ratnam and the critically acclaimed Manje Manje!, an epic based on Greek tragedy(s) directed by Mark Fleishman.
