| Nina van Schalkwyk is a passionate young performer based in Durbanville, Cape Town, originally from the coastal town of Mosselbaai. With a natural stage presence and strong creative drive, she began her journey in the performing arts through school theatre and public speaking, where her expressive talent first came to life. She is currently in her second year of studies.
Nina was an active member of her high school drama club and participated in school theatre productions in 2023. In 2020, she reached the national level of Oppie Tong Af Redenaars, showcasing her skills in Afrikaans public speaking. In addition to acting, Nina is a versatile performer with musical experience, having been a member of her school choir and playing both guitar and ukulele. She brings a strong physical presence to her work through her active involvement in sports, including netball, swimming, track, and hockey. Beyond the stage, Nina is a dedicated writer with a love for poetry and storytelling. Two of her poems were published in the collection Ink Inspraak youth bundle in 2021, highlighting her voice as a young South African creative writer. She brings a blend of emotional depth, artistic sensitivity, and physical energy to every role she undertakes. |
