Shelley is trained in theatre, film, and radio having been lucky enough to have worked professionally in all three. She is what is known as a triple threat being proficient in singing, dancing, and acting but her love for film overtook somewhere along the lines. Her most recent film “Ümama” has just won an Academy Award receiving Gold for Best Student film.
She is probably best recognised for her role of Leah in Gangster’s Paradise: Jerusalemma playing opposite Rapulana Seiphemo. Her theatre accolades include the Award-winning original The Traveller’s where she worked with acclaimed director Sylvaine Strike and Fame The Musical for Showtime Management. Her longest-running radio serial Radio Vuka is also an award-winning drama that ran for 9 years on SAFM.
Her list of professional work ranges from children’s shows to presenting and interviewing for shows such as Curious Culture to hard-hitting dramas such as Yizo Yizo and The Lab or comedy dramas such as One Way or straight-up comedy like Leon Schuster’s latest film Frank and Fearless.
