|Terry graduated from UCT in 1979 and has enjoyed a professional career in theatre, film, tv, and voice work spanning the last 43 years.
She has been lucky enough to work opposite some great local and international actors including John Kani, Dorothy Anne Gould, Micheal Caine, Sydney Poitier, Juliette Binoche, Claire Foy, Andrew Garfield, John Cleese, and Forest Whitaker, to mention a few. Terry has also worked with some classic directors including Andy Serkus, Roland Joffe and John Boorman, and many others.
Terry has acted in over 33 films and 22 tv series. Some of her favourite theatre performances have been in Amadeus, Born in the RSA (which toured extensively to Edinburgh, London, N. Y., Boston, and Washington DC). Terry has also won awards for A Doll’s House, Beautiful Thing, Equus and The Great Outdoors, and has enjoyed several other nominations for other productions. She was also fortunate to work with Edna O’Brien in a London production of O’Brien’s play, Tryptich, directed by Sean Mathias and acting opposite Orla Brady.
All in all, she has performed mostly in lead roles in 32 other plays. A highlight in her career was being invited to the 2009 Berlinale, where a film Terry had starred in called Layla Fourie, directed by Pia Marais and acting opposite August Diehl, was nominated.
Terry has also done extensive voice work in commercials, documentaries, and corporate fields.
She now lives at the seaside with her dog.
