MLA CALL FOR CAST 2026 - Top 11

Zarin Wolff is a South African/American actress born and raised in Cape Town. Coming from a family of performers, she discovered her love for acting at an early age. She grew up by the sea, surfing and making short films with her friends, and has always felt she belongs in front of a camera telling stories to the world.

Zarin has trained for screen acting both in South Africa and internationally, including at the Catalyst Institute in Berlin and with industry professionals from Los Angeles, New York, and London. She has also spent much of her early twenties travelling throughout Europe and the United States. Curious and charismatic by nature, she believes the best actors are constant observers of life and people, and that understanding the human condition is at the heart of truthful performance. Her experiences of people, cultures, places and moments are what she draws on to bring emotional truth and depth to the characters she portrays. She is now at ACT Cape Town, where she continues to train under some of South Africa's leading screen acting coaches. Alongside acting, Zarin has worked as a production assistant, treatment writer, and screenwriter, and hopes to one day write, direct, produce, and star in films of her own.

While she has done short films and TVCs around the world, Zarin’s stand-out performance is her vulnerable and authentic portrayal of Blue, a heartbroken young woman battling addiction in Where the Stars Meet, directed by Benjamin Martin. The award-winning short has screened internationally, winning various awards at festivals including the Milan Gold Awards, the Kraken International Festival, and the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival.

With a growing body of work behind her and an exciting career ahead, Zarin is focused on continuing to create work that feels authentic and meaningful, and on sharing her enthusiasm for the art of acting with everyone she collaborates with.
