Evangelina, born on 12 May 2012 in Cape Town, South Africa, has emerged as an aspiring future star. She is currently a pupil at Fish Hoek Primary School, and it is here that her exceptional talent was first recognised on stage. From overcoming her shyness to playing Toby in the school's production of Robin Hood in 2021 to her breakout performance as Lumiere in the school's Beauty and the Beast production (2022) as the youngest pupil ever to be cast in a lead role.
Her delightful, comedic performance of Lumiere, with her flawless French accent, was outstanding. She shone as Matilda in the school's adaptation of the musical (2023), and this role showcased her beautiful voice and dance training. Evangelina is a triple threat as a dancer, singer and actor.
She played Leonato in Much Ado About Nothing at the Shakespeare Schools Festival (2023). Fish Hoek Primary adapted it to "Much Ado About Gnocchi," and Evangelina's ability to deliver Shakespeare in an American Brooklyn accent was sublime. Evangelina has an ear for learning accents and enjoys teaching herself.
She is currently lighting up the screen in her TV debut as lead, playing Lucy Field on MNET's Summertime. She plays the daughter of Martin Field, a marine biologist and single father. Evangelina captures Lucy's old soul and heart for being there for her Dad and brother after the death of their mother and moving back to South Africa from Cyprus with such authenticity. Her portrayal of Lucy is described as natural and believable. She encapsulates Lucy's passion for the environment and animals and her wit, maturity, and emotions as she grieves her mom and faces the challenges of a new life back in South Africa. Evangelina’s professionalism, gifted natural ability to act for the camera, never missing the mark, and always being one step ahead, not to mention funny with a humble heart of gold, have been noted and commended on set.
She is super smart, and her extraordinary photographic memory and passion for acting add to her acting arsenal. Her calm ability to juggle school, sports, and exams while filming for a year has been nothing short of phenomenal.
Evangelina's talent is deep and versatile, and her gift to perform is only beginning to be unleashed. The future is bright and exciting for this passionate young actress.
